Our charities

At Escapaholics, we take our corporate social responsibility very seriously. In fact we evolved from organising events with the pure drive of raising funds for charities in the UK and overseas.

We kicked off with crazy mud runs and obstacle course races donating hundreds of thousands of pounds to local and military charities from the Royal British Legion to walking with the Wounded and the Gurkha Welfare Trust. Our trips to India took us to raising funds for small local charities, including Shiksha Rath slum school in Delhi. This is a truly awe-inspiring charity run by the amazing Atula, helping some of Delhi’s poorest children.

Every trip to India, we donate funds to Shiksha Rath and we encourage our guests and clients to do the same – and it is easy to do, once one has witnessed the charity in action and the difference this makes for hits children.

In Borneo we work with the local Iban tribes to develop their eco-tourism and in doing so help to preserve their traditional ways whilst protecting the eco-systems of their pristine rainforest.

We also encourage clients on our corporate trips to develop their own ESG models and help their own preferred charities.

We have our own ‘in-house’ charity, the Cottesloe Charitable Trust, registered for Gift Aid and through Just Giving, to help people donate.

Shiksha Rath (which translates as Chariot of Education) is a highly focussed long term initiative providing after school classes, nutritious meals and healthcare to almost a hundred of Delhi’s poorest children by means of a ground breaking slum academy. For more information about how the academy operates (and lots of great photos) please go to their website or check out the Facebook page at Shiksha Rath Community.
